Salesforce Spring ’10 Release Delayed

02/12/2010

Some customers received an email from salesforce.com indicating that the Spring ‘10 release are postponed on their servers due to some performance issues.  I think that this is the first time that a release was delayed by salesforce.com to some serves, but I might be wrong.  I have not heard about any issues with existing upgrades of servers (except for some IE6 problems with the side bar), if you have any insights or new information, please share it in the comments.

Here is the letter I received:

” Dear Tal,

At salesforce.com, ensuring customer success through trusted system availability, performance, and reliability are top priorities. We’ve made the decision to postpone the rollout of Spring ’10 to your instance with these priorities and values in mind. We’ve identified performance concerns with the rollout of Spring ’10 which we want to resolve before deploying to your instance. This will ensure that customers continue to have the best possible experience with our service.

The Spring ’10 release maintenance window for your instance is targeted for March. We will notify you of the specific maintenance window for your instance by Friday, February 19th, 2010. This information will also be posted to http://trust.salesforce.com as it becomes available.

We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause to you and your organization.

Best regards,
